N.E.W Cup & Plate Finals

A big thank you to everyone that has taken part in the N.E.W Challenge Cup Competition this season 2025-26.
The N.E.W Cup and Plate Finals took place on Friday 20th March at Deeside LC.

Cup: Eros Cup 1 [-5] v Llanferres Cup 1 [Scr]
Plate: Prestatyn Cup 1 v Prestatyn Cup 4
 
Congratulations go to Eros Cup 1 team for winning the Cup. The end score was 13-5 but it was an exciting event with lots of long rallies and close games 21-20, 21-19, 21-18. Very enjoyable to watch all of the strong and talented players.
 
Congratulations also go to Prestatyn who had 2 teams in the Plate Finals. Prestatyn Cup 1 beat Prestatyn Cup 4 with an end score of 16-2 and again it was good to see a number of 21-20’s as well as a 21-19 and a 21-18. So all of the Prestatyn players (minus their injured Cup 4 captain Dom who was unable to play in the final) all played well. 👏👏🏸🏸

BW Graded success for N.E.W players

Congratulations to all the North East Wales players who represented 8 of our affiliated clubs on Saturday at the largest BW Graded Event to date.

A huge 131 players took part with representatives from Buckley, Eros, Flint Phoenix, Hawarden, Llanferres, Prestatyn, Rossett and Wrexham demonstrating their skills on court.

N.E.W Cup & Plate Semi Finals

Good luck to all the North East Wales taking part in the Cup & Plate Semi Finals tonight in Deeside Leisure Centre!

 

The draws will take part at 7:15pm but the teams involved are:

Cup:  Eros 1, Eros 2, Llanferres 1, Prestatyn 3
Plate:  Flint Phoenix, Llanferres 3, Prestatyn 1, Prestatyn 4

N.E.W Cup & Plate Update

A big thank you to everyone that played last week in the Cup & Plate. Lots of close games on the match sheets, 21-20, 21-19, 21-18! Also matches in both the Cup & Plate that ended 9-9 and had to be decided on points as well as 10-8 finishes!

However, through to the semi-finals at Deeside LC on Tuesday 17th February 2026 are:

Cup: Eros 1, Eros 2, Llanferres 1 and Prestatyn 3.

Plate: Flint Phoenix, Llanferres 3, Prestatyn 1 and Prestatyn 4.

Reminder that the draw is done on the evening in the Deeside Cafe area 15 minutes before we enter the hall.

League Handicap 2025-26 [1] Results

What an amazing day of badminton at the first League tournament of the 2025-26 season!

64 players from 7 N.E.W clubs (8 Buckley, 25 Eros, 2 Flint Phoenix, 2 Hawarden, 2 Llanferres, 17 Prestatyn & 4 Wrexham) and a brilliant tournament! Well done to all the medallists and thank you to everybody who took part and supported the League in continuing to promote and further badminton in the region.

Tournament Entries Closing Dates

Due to several last minute messages re. entry we have extended the entry dates for the N.E.W League Handicap (Saturday 1st November) and the BW Graded Series (Sunday 2nd November) until WEDNESDAY 22ND OCTOBER 2025.

Please note that entries fees for the LEAGUE HANDICAP must be transferred to the League bank account (£15 for the first event, £10 for the second event).
